Eligibility, Recognition, Subjects, DEB-ID & Admission Checks
An Online Bachelor of Arts can provide a flexible undergraduate pathway, but students should first verify the exact Higher Educational Institution, BA programme, Online study mode and academic session before admission.
Do not rely only on the university name. The exact BA programme and the academic session should appear under the applicable UGC-DEB recognition or entitlement information.
Eligibility is determined by the university and the exact programme. Students should check the current official admission rules for the required qualifying examination, subjects, marks and documents.
Do not assume that one marks requirement or subject combination applies to every Online BA programme.
BA programmes can differ by institution and may be general, honours or subject-focused. The available subject combinations, credits, examination pattern and learning structure should be checked from the university's current programme information.
UGC-DEB states that students cannot enrol in ODL or Online programmes without a valid DEB-ID. Learners create DEB-ID through the official DEB system using their ABC-ID.

UGC regulations provide equivalence for qualifying undergraduate and postgraduate degrees awarded through recognised ODL and/or Online mode with the corresponding conventional-mode awards, subject to the applicable recognition and regulatory requirements.
Degree recognition is an important starting point, but recruitment authorities may prescribe their own subject, marks, age, professional approval or other eligibility conditions. Always read the exact recruitment notification.
